It targets the recycling of used electrical and electronic equipment, such as old mobile phones, televisions, and computers. R2 requires the implementation of management systems related to environmental, health and safety, and security in recycling operations, and it seeks to manage downstream operators concerning used electrical and electronic equipment and facilities.
